Untethered Expeditions exists to empower women to step boldly out of their comfort zones and connect with each other in nature. We are a women-owned, concierge-style adventure travel company leading small groups of adventurers to challenge themselves beyond their perceived limitations and create a beautiful, intentional community of women travelers. Whether this is your first time lacing up your hiking boots, or your boots already hold hundreds of marked memories, we have an adventure for you. The past couple of years on our planet has led to a massive shift in women. Women have been holding up half the sky since the beginning of time. But many women struggle with a disconnect from the power they hold. Society and cultural structures have conditioned us to be pleasing, to be quiet, to put everyone else first and ourselves last, to not disrupt, to be small. Self-care looks like manicures and pedicures. We are encouraged to “take time for ourselves” by fixing our tired exteriors so we can be more presentable and palatable to the world. We are in the workforce holding full-time careers and then at home running the household. We are constantly running on empty and further disconnecting ourselves from our own power. And women all over the world are saying “not anymore”.

But what if we chose ourselves? What if we put ourselves first? What if we had unhindered access to the power within us? What if we shed all the expectations from society, from our families, from our world? What if we shed all these tethers that keep us neatly inside of our little boxes? What could we accomplish? What would we choose? Who could we empower? Who could we be if we were truly untethered?

When we venture into the wilderness, all of these expectations are released. All of the noise of who we are supposed to befall away so we can discover who it is we are meant to be. We can return to our truest selves because we never left. We are just buried under all of the noise. We can be free. It is from this place that we can accomplish anything. When we venture out, we become free to venture in.

At Untethered Expeditions, we venture out in order to create the space for women to venture in. We are no longer seeking answers in others because they already exist within ourselves. We are the heroes of our own stories. Welcome.
